Don’t forget about the Boston Bruins

I can’t even remember the last time I did a article on the Boston Bruins. We live in a sports region where the other teams in town get the lion share of the headlines.  With that being said you have a team in town that is making some noise in the NHL.  Your Boston Bruins in their last 10 games have put up 17 out of a possible 20 points.

With the team currently on a West Coast trip timing makes it hard for people here on the East to catch a game.  The next 3 games are gonna be the toughest on the trip after the Bruins disposed of Anaheim, and the Kings.

The Bruins are currently sitting in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division as I’m writing this.  I always feel like the Bruins are the forgotten team in this town, despite in my opinion have one of the most rabid fan base in Boston.

The Bruins like most other teams in the NHL will be eyeing the NHL trade deadline (February 25).  I can’t say with a 100% certainty the Bruins will make a move, but I suspect Don will do something.  There are a lot of names being thrown out there like always, but the question Sweeney needs to answer is can you compete with Tampa when it matters?

I think the Bruins should do their due diligence, and make a move that makes sense for the organization.  I’m not sure you can actually get past Tampa in the playoffs, but I will say in the NHL playoffs anything is possible.  I personally wouldn’t mind seeing the Bruins go out and get Ryan Dzingel.  I know it isn’t the sexy name, but I think he will blend in well here.

I think regardless of the Bruins outcome the season it’s time for people to give this team a look.  The future is bright for them with a young core coming along with a core whose not getting any younger, but still has good hockey in them.  I’m just giving my opinion of course on the matter. Thanks for reading!
