I had a chance to sit down with my friend and cohost Steven Thompson for a one on one interview recently, but before I get into that I wanna touch on our background together. Steve and I have been friends for the better half of 30 years. We grew up in a small town together way back in the day. I think if you asked us if we would be doing this all these years later we’d both say your crazy. Enough of the small talk let’s get into the interview shall we?
Steve nice to be able to conduct this interview let’s get right to it.
How did you come up with the concept of DieHardBostonSportsfans?
I was actually driving around Boston with a friend of mine, and came up with the idea. My wife hates everything to do with sports, so the idea of bringing boston sports fans together seemed like a great idea. I would have a group of people to talk to, and my wife wouldn’t have to listen to me talk about sports. LOL.
What are some of your goals for the future?
I would like to see both of us getting media passes for the four major teams, and our podcast to get more recognition.
What would you like to see for improvement in the company as a whole?
I want us to start a blog, and publish at least 3 articles a week on it.
Why don’t you tell the Audience about our podcast, and how that came to be?
Absolutely! Chris and I started with a facebook live show about 18 months ago, and it kind of just morphed into doing a podcast instead. We enjoyed doing the live shows for the most part, but felt we could offer more value in the podcast format. We discuss the current events going on with the four major boston teams, and give our analysis on players, etc. Next week will mark 1 year since we started doing the podcast, and it has been amazing so far. To sit down and think about the guests we have had on this first year is simply mind-boggling.
What direction would you like to see the podcast take in the future?
I love the direction of the podcast, and can’t wait to see what this next year brings us. I want to see our podcast improvement on a weekly basis, and get even bigger guests on.
Lastly tell the audience why they should tune into the podcast and DieHard Company?
Check out diehard boston sports fans and our podcast Steve and the hood present boston sports, because we are diehard boston sports fans just like YOU. We don’t claim to be smarter than anyone else, just two down to earth people who love to talk boston sports. Tune into the podcast to hear from some amazing people in the boston sports scene such as Keith Foulke, Greg Bedard, Nick Gelso, and Evan Lazar.
I wanna thank my friend Steven for taking the time for this interview. I’m looking forward to many more shows together, and seeing where this journey leads us. It’s been a blast my friend see you on our next show.
